Grants Funding Opportunity

the National Endowment for Democracy. NED is a US funded foundation which is interested in supporting work on environmental degradation and land-grabbing as well as women's empowerment, media, ethnic minorities, human rights documentation and advocacy.

They provide 12 months grants ranging between $15,000 and $40,000 USD for small and less experienced group. These grants can cover core costs as well as program costs.

They have quarterly applications deadlines and the next deadline is meant to be April 4th but there is an extension and they will accept proposal until April 15th.  For this round of funding decisions will be made on June 13th for funding to start July 1st.

The applications process is quite simple but you should be aware that their reporting requirements are quite heavy (four times a year). Apparently, they provide capacity building assistance to their grantees to support them in the writing process, but it is important that you feel confident about your capacity to report to them.
If you are interested in applying, please see attached forms below.
