Oxfam Australia
Oxfam Australia has just published a
Trainers’ Manual on Free, Prior and Informed Consent. The trainer’s
manual was developed to help strengthen and build the capacity of community
activists, community based organisations and community educators to support
communities to understand FPIC so that they can demand meaningful
participation in decision-making. Oxfam is now seeking translators to
help translate the Trainers Manual into Mekong languages. They
are specifically looking for translations into Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer
and Burmese languages.
The Manual is 64 pages long. In
addition to doing the translation, Oxfam would also request help reviewing
the final document prior to it being published to ensure the translated text
has been correctly placed into the Manual.
Please let us know if you would be
interested in working on this, and we will forward your name and contact
information to Oxfam. Be aware that this is a very BIG job, and could take
many months. Oxfam will pay the translators for their work, but they
haven't told us the rate.
